II Corinthians 8:7 charges us that “as you [we] excel in everything -in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you-see that you excel in this act of grace also.“ In the final act(s) of service to our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-Law, Sister, Aunt and Friend-- the late Lady Catherine Jerry Barbour, the Management and Staff of The Serenity Mortuary, Incorporated, and Shannon DeLoach, President, in particular, took this charge by the Apostle Paul, in its entirety, to new heights. Their attention to detail, knowledge of FINE FUNERAL SERVICE, familial-like care, and exemplary execution were all completed with a refinement, a grace that is unparalleled. Our grief has been softened because we can proclaim, “Excellent! Job well done!”

We would like to express our gratitude to Serenity Mortuary for taking such great care of our Mother, Georgianna Summerhill. Shannon and his team exhibited incredible patience, kindness, and professionalism during the entire process, and we just can’t say enough about how thankful we are to them. What we really loved about Serenity was how they took their time stepping us through the entire process and educating us along the way. Their professionalism and attention to detail were remarkable and we are so appreciative of the way everyone treated us every time we visited. They did a wonderful job preparing our Mother for the final viewing with the family and we were absolutely blown away by how beautiful, serene, and peaceful our Mother looked at the viewing. I highly recommend Serenity Mortuary ; when my mother passed in September 2020 mr. DeLoach and his staff we're very compassionate and professional. they kept us informed every step of the way they went above and beyond to make sure every detail, everything we wanted was provided. airline arrangements were made in a timely manner, they kept in contact with the funeral home in New York and kept us informed from the time Mom departed from South Carolina to her arriving in New York. after my mother passed they continue to show compassion by reaching out to make sure the family was okay, also asking to please let them know if they did not meet our expectation (which they far exceeded). At times like this it's comforting to know it's not ("money") that determines how well a company performs, but, being Guided by compassion, ethics, and helping family's through a very difficult time...... OH, I almost forgot the "program" everyone at the funeral was impressed by the program layout..AWESOME JOB!... Thank you ....... LULA

This is the second time I have trusted the final arrangements of a loved one to Shannon DeLoach and the staff of staff of Serenity Mortuary. The first was the passing of Anna R. Thurston, my mother-in-love. The second, the sudden passing of my beloved husband, Kevin A. Thurston. I cannot say enough about the professional and caring services! Not only were we educated about the value of a "Celebration of LIfe", the associated costs, most imporatant to me was that we were told of the different things we should expect throughout the entire process. I'm entrusting the pre-arrangement of my "Celebration of LIfe" to Serenity Mortuary with an unwavering confidence that my wishes well be carried out with a spirit of excellence!

Serenity Mortuary and all their personnel were so supportive and caring in everything they did in the care, dedication and professionalism they showed in the final home going for my significant others father Mr Tyrone W Hill Sr. Thank you so much for all you do and have done. Mr. DeLoach and his staff displayed the utmost compassion, integrity and professionalism when interacting with his clients! He was forthcoming; navigating uncharted waters with clients. His easy-going demeanor calmed anxiety as we attempted to handle the business at hand-funeral services for my mother, the late Mrs. Mattie B. Goff. He treated us like family and was all inclusive of all stakeholders. He was very thorough and precise in our deliberations. When all was said and done, Mr. DeLoach did a mammoth job with my mother and all our family members were pleased with his work!

From the very beginning our experience, losing Grandma, the Serenity Mortuary Inc., family has embraced ours. They have been kind, compassionate, and thorough. Every staff member is empowered to answer questions and to offer helpful solutions, which is critically important during the bereavement process.
Serenity responds in a punctual manner to both phone calls and email requests. Their website is beautiful and the seamless interface enables information to be disseminated with ease. While they have other clients, they make you feel as though you (your family) are the most important people. Mr. DeLoach and his team really live up to their motto, "Making the Inevitable Pleasant."

First and foremost the professionalism of the entire staff of The Serenity Mortuary, Inc. is absolutely amazing. I have never worked with a “funeral home” that truly was so invested in the community. For the past 5 years from the beginning they were inaugural advisory council members and contributors to the Taking Back OUR Village organization. They are also major contributors to the signature program, Cops and Kids Back to School Bash, annually. They are not contributors by name alone nor by funding only, but they are active participants and serve as a valuable resource to the organization and community. It was only natural that when I had questions that I sought their expertise and they never failed me over the years. I entrusted them to relocate my sisters remains once our mother died last year so they could be together. What many said would be an ordeal was seamless. I was and continue to be amazed at how much had to be done for this to occur, yet I knew none of this until after everything was completed. Then the unthinkable happened, my only surviving parent died and I was devastated. I remember being at the hospital and was asked who I wanted to come to receive my fathers remains and without skipping a beat my response was The Serenity Mortuary, Inc. The care and concern, close attention to detail, ensuring everything was decent and in order in spite of the holiday, and going the extra mile with the details and practicality exceeded our expectations. Lastly, the presentation at the church was also amazing and everything was done in decency and order including providing fans with my Dads picture and a poem during the service for my family and other things that we did not discuss, were not charged for and that may be “small details” for some, but meant the world to my family and I.
