Reverend Edward A. Ashe

RIDGEVILLE, SC - In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Reverend Edward A. Ashe, 88 of Ridgeville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Tuesday morning, December 29, 2020 at the Summerville Community Hospice House. Reverend Ashe is the widower of Mrs. Mary Lee Ashe and a former self - employed truck driver.

"The Life of a Saint"

Rev. Edward A. Ashe was born May 2, 1932 in Summerville, SC., the son of the late Charles and Maybelle Ashe. Rev Ashe was educated in the Dorchester County Public School System, he was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church and later joined Olive Branch Baptist Church, Charleston, SC where he was a dedicated and faithful servant, until he answered the Master’s call to enter the kingdom of heaven.

 He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary L. Simmons Ashe, one son; Cornelius Ashe and two sisters; Mary Gaines and Lucille Bell Gregg.

Rev. Ashe leaves to perpetuate his memory are those his children; Felix Ashe (Evelyn), Ridgeville, SC, Kelvin Ashe (Dr. Missoura), Evans, GA, Resto Ashe (Diana), Hampton, SC., Renee’ Gethers (James), Newport, NC, Winslow Ashe (Barbara), Ridgeville, SC and Charmas T. Ashe, Ridgeville, SC. One sister; Dorothy Walker, Summerville, SC. Three sisters-in-law; Vernether King, Summerville, SC, Roberta Felder, Ridgeville, SC, and Glenny Williams (Bertie), Walterboro, SC., one brother-in-law C.L. Simmons, Brooklyn, NY., 17 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

He will be truly missed
