LADSON, SC. - In profound sorrow we the Management & Staff of The Serenity Mortuary announce the passing of Mrs. Adrian Darlene Florence Simmons Jones, 59 of Ladson, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at a local hospital. Mrs. Jones is the beloved wife of Mr. Joseph Jones, the mother of Ms. Nasonya Simmons and Mr. Nastafa Umar Haynes.

The Obituary

Mrs. Adrian Darlene Florence Simmons Jones was born February 3, 1963, to Ms.  Hattie Florence of Charleston, South Carolina.

Adrian was raised by Mr. and Mrs. John and Sarah Simmons from infancy of Summerville, South Carolina.

Ms. Jones graduated from Summerville High School and received her certificate in child development in Silver Springs, Maryland. (Received a certificate in nursing assistant/Trident Technical College-Child Care Development)

Adrian was a very faithful, in good time and in difficult time as she attended  Brownsville Community Church of God

She always had a quiet spirit, and a secret smile. She made friends easily and enjoyed working with children.

She adored her children, Sonia and Stafa; and always wanted and worked for their very best, because family is very important to her.

She loved her Saturdays at the flee market early in the mornings. One of her favorite food was boiled peanuts while strolling through the fairground.

Adrian will be loved and missed by all the family and friends left behind.

Her husband Joseph (Jodie) Jones will miss her love, company, and sense of humor.

Her legacy will continue with her daughter; Nasonia Simmons, her son; Nastafa Umar Haynes, and her granddaughter; Samiya Elliana Haynes.

Adrian Darlene Florence Simmons Jones will always be loved, cherished, and missed by; Sarah M. Williams, Ernistine (Tina) Greene, Lillie M. Bernard, Wilhelmina Ashby, Larry (Cora) Simmons. Anna J. (Derick) West, Andrew Simmons, Matthew Simmons, Lazarus (Jeannette) Simmons, Levi (Brenda) Simmons, Anita Florence, Lisa Florence, Tara Florence, Amalia Gantt, and a host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, great-great grand nephews and nieces, a host of cousins, relatives, and friends.
