RIDGEVILLE, SC - In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. West Pryor, 94 of Ridgeville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Life Care Center of Charleston, North Charleston, SC. Mr. Pryor is a US Army Veteran and the widower of Mrs. Rosa Bell Pryor.

A time to born:
West was born September 29, 1926 to the late Westley and Pattie Pryor in Ridgeville, South Carolina.
A time to die;
West departed his earthly home on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at The Life Care Center of Charleston, in North Charleston.
A time to learn;
West was educated in the Dorchester County public school system.
A time to marry;
West was united in holy matrimony to Rosa Bell on March 3, 1949. They shared 67 wonderful years together. With this union they had one son (West Gerald Pryor) which preceded him in death.
A time to work;
West worked at the Naval Weapon Station for many years where he later retired. After retirement West was a dedicated and devoted school bus driver for the Summerville School District Number 2 for many years, which was a job he enjoyed doing. West was also the co-owner and operator along with his wife Rosa Bell of the local community store affectionally known as “The Shop.”
A time to serve;
West served in the United States Army for many years where he traveled overseas. West was a member of the Samaritans Lodge #27. In his spare time he would take people to the poll to vote.
A time to worship;
West was baptized at an early age and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a lifelong member of Bethel AME Church in Ridgeville, SC, where he served on many different auxiliaries such as a trustee and class leader. West was a Prayer Warrior as he would pray in and out of church. He was known as “A Praying Man of God!” The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16
A time to love;
West leaves to cherish his fond memories a loving and caring daughter Ms. Mattie Lee Felder of Ridgeville, two sisters; Catherine Nix of North Charleston, Florence Lary of Ridgeville, two sisters-in-law; Helene Pryor and Eartha Pryor both of Ridgeville, eight siblings preceded him in death; Delores Williams, William Caviness, Earnest Pryor, Mary Haynes, Jack Pryor, Walter Pryor, Madge Rumph, and Ethel Ellis; 4 grandsons in which one preceded him in death, 16 great grand. and 13 great great grands. A special niece/adopted daughter Linda K. Bowman (LJ) of Ridgeville, a special niece Stephanie Haynes of Summerville, a special nephew Fred Caviness (Pam) of Ladson, SC. A host of nieces , nephews, relatives, and friends.
