RIDGEVILLE, SC - In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mr. George Williams, Jr., 78 of Ridgeville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Friday evening, March12, 2021 at Heartland Health and Rehab of Hanahan, SC. Mr. Williams is the husband of Mrs. Jannie J. Williams.
The Obituary
George Williams Jr. 78, was born April 15, 1942 to the late George and Marie Williams, Sr. in Ridgeville, South Carolina and Dorchester County. He departed his life on Friday, March 12, 2021 at Heartland Rehabilitation Center, Hanahan, SC.
He attended Kennedy High School in Dorchester County. He began his lifetime career CSX Railroad Cooperation for 32 years. George retired and lived a life of enjoyment until his health began to fail. He was member of Bethel AME Church of Ridgeville, South Carolina, where he served on the Usher Board and Food Pantry.
He was very outgoing, fun, loved food, very talkative, and loved to make everyone’s day. In October 10, 2009, George and Jannie Johnson were united in Holy Matrimony, where 6 children combined into a family. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Marie Williams, Sr., his son George Williams, III, his sisters Amanda Bennett and Mary Williams and in-laws John H. and Rosa L. Johnson.
Those left to cherish his memories includes his devoted wife; Jannie J. Williams of Cross, South Carolina; his children; Lemauel (Tawanda) of Columbia, SC, Chariol (John) Shilow of Florence, South Carolina, Matthew Williams of Moncks Corner, SC, Octavia (Tory) Banks, Nathan (Saundra) Cohen, Jr. of Cross, SC, and Tia (Shaun) Hargrove of Ladson, SC, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, sisters; Lillian Williams and Elaine Reed of Ridgeville, S.C., Joyce Dillings and Joan Jones of Jedburg, S.C. brother; Roscoe (Joan) Williams of New Jersey, brother-in-laws, Marion (Cindy) Johnson of St. George, S.C., Allen (Dora) Johnson of Cross, S.C., Gena (Michele) Johnson of Nashville, TN and Kenneth (Keisha) Johnson of North Charleston, S.C., sisters-in-law Brenda Mack of Cross and Latrisha (Bobby) Davis of Eutawville, S.C. and a beautiful host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends, and coworkers.
