Ridgeville, SC (Clubhouse Section) - The Management and Staff of The Serenity Mortuary, LLC., alongside the Green Family announce the passing of Elder Theodore Green, Sr., 91 of Ridgeville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Monday morning, April 1, 2024 at his residence surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Elder Green is the beloved husband of Mrs. Carrie Lee Haynes Green.

Elder Theodore Green, Sr., son of the late Julius Green, Sr. and Maggie Green, was born July 29, 1932, in the Clubhouse Community of Ridgeville, SC.

Elder Green attended the public schools of Dorchester County where he met the love of his life, the former Missionary Carrie Haynes. The two were joined in holy matrimony on July 17, 1954, and to this union seven children were born.  Elder Green was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 30 years with various construction companies before retiring from Dorchester County on August 4, 1997.

Elder Theodore Green, a servant and devoted man of God, was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1973. He became a member of Friendship True Bibleway Church of God in Faith, under the leadership of the late Bishop Walter Gregg. Elder Green served willingly and faithfully through the years-- first as a Deacon, and later, through his faithfulness and devotion unto the Lord, he answered God’s calling into the Ministry. Elder Green served as State Overseer of Friendship True Bibleway Church of God in Faith #1 and #2, and assumed full pastoral duties of Friendship True Bibleway Church of God #2 until his health began to fail.

Elder Green was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather that enjoyed preaching, spending time with his family, and cooking. He was known for his famous “Candy Yams” and cruising the community on his golf cart.

On Monday, April 1, 2024, our beloved Elder Green gained his wings and went from labor to reward. The lives of his family, church members, community and friends are certainly richer for the time they spent with Elder Green, as he was a blessing to all who knew him.

Elder Green was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings as well as his beloved son, Theodore “Roy” Green, Jr., and grandson, Jerrel R. West.  Left to cherish his memory are Elder Green’s devoted and loving wife of 69 years, Missionary Carrie Green; their six children: Elder Warren Lee (Patricia) Green,  Albert (Debbie) Green, Pernell (Violet) Green of Ridgeville SC, Cheryl (Leroy) Womble of Summerville, SC, CSM(R) Steven (Carolyn) Green of Clover, SC, and Karren (Lamont) Aiken of Summerville SC; his brother-in-law Timothy (Mary) Haynes; his sisters-in-law:  Julie Goodwine, Mattie Greene, Eartha Haynes, and Emily Haynes of Ridgeville, SC, Eartha Simmons and Christine (Bishop Johnny) Storey of Hempstead, NY,  and Mary Haynes of Jacksonville, FL;  19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews, as well as his very special caregiver, Latrice Green.
