DOVER, DE - In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Louise Florine Holt, 68 of Dover, DE., (formerly of North Charleston, SC.) who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Christiana Care Hospital, Newark, DE.
Florine Louise Chisolm was born December 19, 1950 to the late Rev. Mannie C. Chisolm and the late Carrie Givens Chisolm in Charleston, South Carolina.
Louise was educated in the South Carolina School system and graduated from Bonds Wilson High School with the class of 1969. She studied and received her cosmetology certificate and also attended Rice Business College. Louise worked as a switchboard operator and also taught second grade in the school system.
Louise was formerly married to the late Parks H. Holt Jr., and from their union they had two children. They lived in Hawaii for about six years before relocating to Dover Air Force Base Dover, Delaware. Louise lived over 40 years in Delaware and during that time she did many things. She was employed at Roses, Boscov’s (for 10 years), and Kraft General Foods ,where she retired on disability. Her life of service to her Lord directed her to fellowship and serve with several local assemblies; The Pentecostals of Dover, DAFB Chapel, New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Dover, Trinity Wesleyan Church in Camden, Calvary Baptist Church in Dover, Bread of Life Christian Church in Dover/Camden, Because Jesus Loves you Ministries of Greenwood, affiliate of Sharon Edmund Ministries of North Carolina.
Louise served faithfully in many capacities. She was an usher, Sunday School teacher, Youth Church teacher, Prison Ministry worker, Nursing Home Ministry worker, Evangelism team minister, Floriguild members, Vacation Bible School teacher, Missionary traveling Minister, and Prayer Team participant. Louise was a member of the Just Friends Group, the Zeta Amicae of Dover, and she volunteered on the Kent General Hospital Pastoral Care Department as a Chaplain.
Louise lived to study and learn, definitely showing herself approved, never wanting to lead anyone the wrong way. God divinely appointed and anointed her to teach and preach the gospel. In the early 1990’s she became a licensed Minister. In 2000, she received the Dean award from Calvary Bible Institute. In 2001 she received her Associate of Biblical Studies from Friends International Christian University, in 2002 she attained her Bachelor of Biblical Studies, and became ordained as Reverend, later being named and appointed Elder and Pastor.
Louise had a plethora of hobbies through the years. She did some modeling for a local major department store, oil painting, crocheting, reading, sewing, bowling ( she had trophies from a league ), gardening, and decorating with butterflies. She loved to sing songs into the Lord, traveling, eating out at restaurants w/family and friends, dressing up, keeping her hair done, watching movies or tv (especially with her grandchildren ), and next to spending time communing with her Savior, she loved to be with her family.
Whether you called her Mom, Mother, Grandma, Sister Louise, Flo, Auntie Flo, Florine, sister, Elder, Rev, cousin or friend; you certainly experienced her smile, guidance, prayers, laughter, encouragement, and even that tough love talk. She loved hard, she loved intentionally, and without regret. She was constantly pouring into others, never stopped praying and never stopped praising the Lord God.
