Mrs. Hester Glover Williams Obituary

SUMMERVILLE, SC - In profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Hester Glover Williams, 61 of Summerville, SC., who entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, March 30, 2019 at her residence. She is the beloved wife of Mr. Haywood Williams.

Hester Williams departed this life March 30th, 2019. Hester was born in Cross SC on August 8th, 1957 to the late John and Hannah Glover. Hester was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Charles Glover, and sister Lillie Gaillard.

In February of 1974 Hester was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Later she married Haywood on October 31st, 1981. They were together for 38 years. She and Haywood were more than marriage mates, they were best friends.

Hester, affectionately known as Hess, was a very caring person to all, always willing to help someone in any way that she could. She was like a second mother to her many nieces and nephews, regularly offering them motherly advice and guidance to try to protect them because she loved them very, very much. People in general were at ease talking to her because she was an excellent listener. When she befriended you, she was your friend for life. Hess was an excellent homemaker and cook, her legendary macaroni and cheese being enjoyed by many. She was also known for making beautiful crafts and floral arrangements. She knew how to make something out of nothing. In spite of being handicapped, when she could, she would spend upwards of 75 hours a month in her ministry sharing with people God's comforting promise for the future. Through her efforts she helped many people to learn the wonderful truths found in the Bible. Hess served Jehovah faithfully to the end, never wavering in her devotion no matter what.

Hess is survived by her loving, caring and devoted husband Haywood and her step son Lashawn. Three brothers: Harry (Mary) Glover of Cross SC, John Glover of Cross SC, Andrew Glover of Ridgeville SC. Two sisters: Mamie (Lester) Butler of Savannah Ga, Queen White of Charleston SC. Mother-in-law Bettye Williams, Sister-in-law Toni Gary-Williams, Brother-in-law Gerald (Sandra)Williams and Brother-in-law Sidney Williams.  Brother-in-law Stanley Gaillard.  One Uncle, Samuel Green (Polly). Aunts: Mary Davis-Smith and Eula Washington of Eutawville SC. Three step-grands. A host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends whom she dearly loved.
